Event venue EM2 and Koolen Solar Projects enable emission-free events
Tackling an ever-increasing electricity bill, Groningen’s event venue EM2 chose Koolen Solar Projects to design and install an intelligent, renewable energy system.
The team combined solar generation and on-site battery storage to make EM2 Europe’s first event venue to offer a truly sustainable, emission-free visitor experience.

Former Koolen Industries COO Ynte de Vries takes on The Green Box as new CEO
After 2 years at Koolen Industries, Ynte de Vries takes on a new role as CEO at The Green Box, cleantech campus in Hengelo and home base of Koolen Industries headquarters. In his new role, Ynte will double down on the development of the campus’ own clean energy system and foster strong partnerships between cleantech companies, regional organizations, and educational institutions to speed up the energy transition.
Nicias takes the next step towards an electric Dakar Rally competition
The Dakar 2023 may have ended early for Kees Koolen and the Project2030 team, but they are ready for the next step in converting their race truck to a fully electric, emission-free vehicle. The newly approved Super B batteries are now being built into the vehicle and the first test race is planned for June of this year. Watch the recap video below!
